Cub Bowling Night - 13th December 2012 As an end of Christmas treat the Cubs went bowling. It was well supported with most of the pack attending. There was plenty of competitive spirit, especially from the Leaders both Young and Old, however the cubs showed them how to bowl properly. Everyone who attended had a really fun evening. Remembrance Day- November 2012 The group took part in the Whitchurch Remembrance Day again this year. We had more Beavers, Cubs and Scouts attend than previous years and all were smartly dressed and perfectly behaved. We had plenty of positive feedback from the public. Well done all ... CATVOG Urban Adventure Day October 2012 Fifty Beavers and Cubs, along with parent helpers and leaders took part in the area Urban Adventure Day. Bear Grylls flew in for a visit and a chat. Everyone had a brilliant time, activities included climbing, zorbing, Zip Wires and lots more ... "The Welsh always have adventure running through their blood. You also have one of the great natural playgrounds of the world - the Brecons; Snowdonia; an amazing coast. But ultimately people will make adventure anywhere. It's actually about the spirit of a nation - and the Welsh are great. They want to give to their community. I've had such fun this weekend seeing a little bit of it. – Bear Grylls"  How many Spies(cubs) can you fit in a tree? - september 2012 The cub pack have just successfully completed their spy training at a weekend camp held in our very own secret Headquaters. The whole pack attended and everyone had a great time.
Malvern 2012 The scouts have returned from another successful Malvern Challenge. Everybody including the leaders had a good time. The weather was good for us with only one heavy rain shower on the Saturday morning before the actual challenge. Photos available in our private facebook group.

Scout Troop Cooking Competition- November 2012 The scouts held a cooking competition. The troop was divided into 5 teams and given a budget of £10 to prepare a 2 course meal. As with past cooking competitions the standard was high, we had themed tables, waiters in suits, the works. Everyone including the Judges has a good time. Photos of the food and cooking are available on the group Facebook area Scouts Guerrilla Gardening - October 2012 The Scouts have planted two trees in Coryton Primary School. Made a bit more challenging by the fact it was dark. We then finished the evening with a torch walk back to the scout hall, and hotdogs all round. Big thank you to the parents who joined us. Everyone had a great time On Friday 28th September 2012 our cub pack played host for the Afon District Cub Campfire. There were hundreds of cubs and leaders from accross the district and everyone had a really good evening. The group recieved lots of positive feedback Inspiring a Generation - September 2012 The Olympic torch has visited the scouts, the scouts that were at the meeting have had their photograph taken holding he torch. Cub Night is moving.....
Due to leader commitments the cub meeting night is moving to a different day and time from the start of next half term.
You should have recieved a letter from cubs informing you of the new day. If you have not had the letter you can email us at 1stwhitchurchscouts@gmail.comgiving us the name of your child (who attends cubs) and we will send you an email with the details

Scout Post 2011
Well thats it for another year, a big thank you to everyone who helped with the Scout Post and made it such a success. We are expecting to have made the same as, if not more than previous years.

Remembrance Sunday 2011
The group took part in the Remembrance Day service at the Whitchurch War Memorial. We were well represented with children from all three sections attending. We paraded through Whitchurch with all three sections flags and laid a wreath at the memorial. Everyone was smartly dressed and gave a good impression of the group.
