Welcome to the 1st Whitchurch Scout Group, Cardiff.  We are a popular and active Scout Group which believes in promoting the aim of the scout association:
"to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities."
The group is made up from three sections:
Beaver Scouts (6-8 years)
Cub Scouts (8-10½ years)
Scouts (10½-14 years)

We are coeducation so all members both boys and girls work together to meet the aims of Scouting through a single programme.

Scouts - Malvern Challenge - 27th - 29th June 2014

Malvern Challenge
We took the scouts and young leaders to the final Malvern Challenge.  Everyone had a great time even if the scouts were hiking in the thunder and rain.

The entertainment in the barn was brilliant with Stavros Flatley (Britains got talent) and Kingsland Road (X-Factor).  The Sunday Fayre was good as well.

A big thank you go out to all the organisers of the event for providing us with so many enjoyable camps, the event will be missed by all.
All the photos are on our facebook site

Scouts - Evening on the Garth - 11th June 2014

Evening on the Garth
The Scouts walked up the hill and back down the mountain. The weather was glorious and even the scouts were impressed with the views of Cardiff and the Bay from the top.  Even had a few parents join us for the walk, just a really pleasant evening away from the scout hall.

Cubs - District Camp - 6th - 8th June March 2014

Afon District Cub Camp
Two leaders and six cubs attended the Miskin Spy camp. Despite the thunder, lightening and lost woggles spirits stayed high all weekend. With 20 different activities, plus games, a campfire with songs, midnight feasts and even fireworks it would of been difficult not to have a good time! We were even complimented on two separate occasions on how well behaved, helpful and polite our cubs were!

Scout - Shelter Building- 30th April 2014

Shelter Building

Cubs - Easter Dragons- 27th March 2014

Easter Dragons
What's better than sweets and making models ???Making models from sweets :)
The cubs made dragon sculptures using crème eggs and Marzipan.  Got a  feeling most of them didn't last till Easter, some probably didn't make it to the end of the scout hall lane.
Anyway a big thank you to Hillary who ran the activity for us.
